What’s in the news?
According to Calciomercato, Newcastle are in pole position to land the World Cup winner in January 2021.
Speaking to Sky Germany, The midfielder recently revealed his admiration for his former bosses in Jose Mourinho and Carlo Ancelotti. Khedira also welcomed a move to the Premier League and claimed it as his “dream.” Sky Germany also revealed that the potential exit of now unknown player in January could open the door for Khedira.
According to TEAMtalk, The Hammers are also heavily monitoring the German’s situation and could well make an offer as soon as the Window reopens.
Which club will best suit Khedira?
As mentioned in the above part, Sami Khedira is in demand for a lot of English clubs. Some of the biggest clubs are heavily monitoring his situation at Juventus as he is not getting any favors from new Andrea Pirlo. The young manager is rebuilding the club and has decided to go for youth, and Khedira does not fit into that category. However, his vast experience could be crucial for his potential employers.
Manchester United?
Manchester United’s midfield chaos has the potential to get even worse. The summer arrival of Donny Van De Beek was making the fans optimistic. However, due to a lack of management and planning, a talented young player struggles to get any game time. Despite Paul Pogba’s inconsistency, Van De Beek hasn’t been given a chance to prove himself.
Sami Khedira would only add to the ongoing mess under Ole Gunnar Solskjær. United have got McTominay and Matic, who are quite similar to Sami Khedira. Khedira’s arrival would only stop the impressive progression of Scott McTominay. Overall a move to Manchester United won’t make sense for Sami Khedira even though the link seems to be quite strong.
Tottenham Hotspur?
Jose Mourinho’s side are also monitoring Khedira’s condition and could be his next club. However, a few ex-players and pundits have questioned the club’s decision to go for an aged player when they have got someone like Harry Winks ready-made in their squad. Winks is willing to leave Spurs searching for regular game time, and Manchester City have shown interest. However, Jose has admitted that he is a massive fan of Winks and would love to keep him at the club. Khedira’s arrival could damage the development of Harry Winks just like Scott Mctominay at United.
Everton?
As Khedira stated, he would love to play under Ancelotti again. As a result, Everton’s move seems to be the best for the players and the club. Khedira now would play more as a deep-lying midfielder instead of a box-to-box midfielder.
In terms of deep-lying midfielder, Everton have only got Allan, and other options in that position do not have quality. Tom Davies has prioritized in Allan’s absence but seems more comfortable in a more advanced role. Sami Khedira could easily be the perfect replacement for Allan whenever he needs rest. Moreover, Ancelotti would also love to have someone who knows his philosophy ever so well. On the whole, a move to Merseyside would be in the player and the club’s best interest.
