A member of the youth football academy of [team 7980] died at the age of 14. The team reported the death of Christian Minchola Sánchez on the club’s website, and did not disclose any further information.
“We are in shock after the sad news of our player’s death and we express deep regret for his loss. Atlético Madrid and his family are experiencing great pain at these times,” said club president Enrique Cerezo.
“The feeling of helplessness is terrible. It comes in situations like this. In recent days people have died very close to me. Some have been infected with coronavirus, others have had other diseases. It is a great injustice. As of today, our flag will be pulled halfway to Christian and all athletes who have left us in the past few weeks, ” added club director Miguel Angel Gil Marin.
