What did Jose Mourinho say about Manchester United?
The former United boss said, “I believe that the problem with [coach 455800] was that when you coach [team 13] you are not about to win the Champions League.
“And with me, you know, people they saw me taking up jobs where they thought that I could win trophies but they were not jobs where we were expected to lift trophies.
“But when you have such a winning career on a cyclical basis so to speak, you can expect that, people can say that. Personally, I’m not worried about this (being replaced by younger coaches). I do not think and focus on the generations, I focus on quality.”
“It’s a matter of quality, motivation, passion. Without passion you are finished. Without pressure in the build-up to big games, you are finished. I know very well myself, I know very well Carlito as well, but there are more examples that we could make.
“But we are the ones who will call it when we want to stop, and I’m afraid people will have to wait a long time before I say that it’s over!”
Will Manchester United win a trophy next season?
[team 14] haven’t won a trophy since [coach 455375]. His [league 5] title in 2017 was their last title win. Since then, after investing so much money under [coach 524307], they failed to win anything under the Norwegian.
Looking at the club’s current status, United are no way near winning anything major. With the club entering a phase with a new structure and a new manager, it’s about laying the foundations. [coach 456113] is an excellent coach, but a number of world-class coaches have already failed at the club.
The first step for the new coach will be to get rid of a number of players. The likes of [player 846], [coach 1335] and a few other older players are leaving the club this summer. Also, Ten Hag is reportedly ready to get rid of [player 5252] and [player 1849]. The pair does not suit his style of play.
Next season, it will be all about getting the foundations in place and having a good season domestically. Finishing in the top four will be enough, and winning a domestic cup would be a tremendous achievement.
However, a trophy next season for Manchester United is highly unlikely. If they get the right players in the summer and Ten Hag is able to get the best out of [player 580], they could pull off a surprise, but it’s unlikely with the side lacking behind in so many areas.
