Leicester City and Manchester United will clash at the King Power Stadium on match week 29 of the Premier League in March 2025.
As of the time of writing, Leicester City have 14 points from 17 games and are placed 17th on the log. Manchester United have garnered 22 points from the same number of games and they are placed 13th.
Leicester City returned to the English Premier League after suffering relegation. They are under their second manager of the season, as Steve Cooper who replaced championship-winning manager Enzo Maresca was sacked after some disappointing results.
Cooper has now been replaced by former Manchester United assistant manager, Ruud Van Nistelrooy. After securing promotion back to the top flight, they were active in the transfer market, as they looked to bolster their squad. They signed midfielder Oliver Skipp from Tottenham Hotspur, while Jordan Ayew also joined the club from Crystal Palace. Facundo Buonanotte also joined the club from Brighton and Hove Albion on loan till the end of the season.
Enzo Maresca’s most trusted midfielder, Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall joined his former boss at Chelsea, while Nigerian striker Kelechi Iheanacho left after his contract was not renewed.
As of the time of writing, the Foxes, who are currently 17th on the table, have won three games, drawn five games and lost nine times in the league this season. They began the season with an interesting 1-1 home draw against Tottenham Hotspur. Unfortunately for them, they were defeated on matchday two by Fulham. They had to wait until matchday seven before enjoying their first win of the season, a 1-0 win over Bournemouth.
Their most recent match was a 3-0 thrashing, suffered at the hands of Wolves in what was new manager Ruud Van Nistelrooy’s second defeat in charge. In the EFL cup, they were eliminated in the round of 16 by Manchester United with Ruud Van Nistelrooy the manager for the Red Devils in that match, as they suffered a 5-2 embarrassing loss.
On the other hand, Manchester United are in a period of transition under new manager Ruben Amorim who was brought in to steady the ship after Dutch coach Erik Ten Hag was sacked in October following a series of dismal performances.
The former coach won the FA cup last season, as they defeated Premier League Champions Manchester City in the final, which ensured they qualified for the UEFA Europa League.
They had a disappointing 2023/24 season, finishing eighth in the league, only qualifying for Europe by virtue of their cup win. It was a dismal campaign for the Red Devils, as they ended the season with 60 points after 38 league matches.
After the partial takeover by Englishman Jim Radcliffe in February 2024, executive members such as Omar Berrada, Jason Wilcrox and Dan Ashworth all joined the club as part of the new ownership. They recruited the likes of Joshua Zirkzee from Bologna after the Dutch forward had a breakout season, Matthijs De Ligt and Noussair Mazraoui both joined from Bayern Munich while Manuel Ugarte moved to Old Trafford from French Champions, Paris Saint Germain. Exciting defender Leny Yoro also moved to the club from Lille. Mason Greenwood spearheaded a long list of players that left the club in the summer.
As of the time of this writing, Manchester United are 13th on the Premier League table, having endured a worst ever start to the league season. They have six wins, four draws and seven losses from their first 17 league matches.
Ruben Amorim’s preferred setup of 3-4-3 has helped produce better results in recent games and it still remains to be seen if they can turn their season around after a disappointing start.
As at the time of writing, their last match was a 3-0 bashing at the hands of Bournemouth. In the UEFA Europa League, they are currently unbeaten but have twelve points from their opening six games, as they are currently seventh on the table. The Red Devils have three wins and three draws, with their last match another comeback 2-1 victory over Czech side Viktoria Plzen. They lost 3-2 to Tottenham Hotspur in the quarterfinals of the Carabao cup and will begin the defense of their FA cup title with a trip to the Emirates on January 12, 2025.

Prediction
At the time of writing, the Foxes have been able to win three Premier League games this season, while the Red Devils have won twice of that. Based on form, they are not far from each other and that could be a major factor in deciding who will take the day at the end of 90 minutes.
Leicester City have lost four times at home this term, so they will be keen to avoid another defeat here. For the fans, getting your Leicester City tickets early is important.
Meanwhile, Manchester United have been largely inconsistent and that might be an opportunity for the home side to get one over them. On their last visit to this ground, United won, and this could be their inspiration ahead of this fixture.
