No Aguero, Poor defense; Can Manchester City win the Champions League with the current squad?

It hasn’t been quite the season [team 9] would have anticipated. Falling way behind [team 8] was a massive disappointment. Some of their defensive performances were woeful. They relied heavily on outsourcing the opposition, which they are capable of doing, but is a precarious way to approach any game. There have been games where they created nearly 25 chances but failed to score. In this case, [player 1359]’s absence was massive.

However, Manchester City have got the chance to finish a somewhat disappointing season with the biggest trophy they can win. They have a goal advantage over [team 3468] going into the second leg. It looks like they will get over the line because of the away goal rule. The quality they have got should be enough to see them through to the quarter-finals.

With Aguero in the side, Manchester City have always got better chances of winning. [player 5329] looks inconsistent, [player 802] is the only consistent scorer currency in the forward line. [player 1371] scores and keeps creating for his side. Whereas [player 971] struggles with consistency, and [player 336133] is too young to be sure in a big European game. Kevin De Bruyne and Raheem Sterling look the obvious men to rely upon when the [league 2] returns.

However, Manchester City are inevitably going to miss their main man Aguero. Against the best teams, you have to take the chances that you create, and Aguero is one of the finest in doing that. Jesus looks quite unsure in front of the goal, and his overall movement doesn’t look like it can trouble the most robust defenses.

Manchester City have got the chance to win their holy grail in August. The trophy they always wanted is there to be won. In one-legged ties, teams have got to score enough to see out the game. Manchester City are undoubtedly brilliant at outsourcing opponents, but their defense could cost them this silverware. Now the question is, can they win it without their legendary goalscorer.
