Di Canio’s and Capello’s reaction to Jose’s appointment as the Roma manager

What did Di Canio say?

[player 6972054] said, “I understand you needed a big name at this moment, but it’s like when you sign a player who is finished. Mourinho just wanted a job with money, he’s had his third sacking in four years, kicked out from everywhere due to the incompatibility of his character and before that’s all he was good at, having character.

“Now Tottenham gave him the boot for his results and incapacity to take the team to another level after two years with all the money they spent.

“Considering the environment around Roma, he’s fine, you might be expecting who knows what, but I tell you he’s the worst of the worst. He’s finished in every conceivable way.

“He doesn’t even play football, he plays anti-football. You might enjoy yourselves in a few press conferences because controversy makes for good theatre, but let me tell you: to reconstruct a team, he’s the worst you could possibly get.

“And I can say that because he was my favourite up until seven years ago, even more than Pep Guardiola.”

Fabio Capello also had his say on this astonishing news

Capello was the last manager to win the league with [team 37] back in 2000/01. The former manager believes that it is not gonna be an easy ride for Mourinho.

Speaking to the Gazzetta Dello Sport, Capello said, “Rome burns everyone. It is the most beautiful city in the world, but also a place where it is extremely difficult to work in football.”

“There is not a lot of patience, contrary to popular belief. The reason for a defeat is often not evaluated.

“The key to everything is having a solid staff and creating a group of players who are behind the coach. A united group against everyone and everything. That is what I did.

He added, “Then, obviously, the club is fundamental: the coach must always be supported and they must prevent anyone from taking advantage of difficulties behind the scenes to stoke dissent.”

“It is (a) very impressive appointment that has immediately sparked enthusiasm in Rome.”

“There are no more excuses. Roma have a coach, a number one, a professional who has won and has experience.

“You need to look at the results and you can’t hide from three sackings, but he is a man of enormous intelligence and I am convinced that his desire to be a protagonist again will be decisive.”

Mourinho’s disappointing Tottenham tenure

When [team 6] announced Mourinho’s appointment, the football world was shocked. Tottenham are a club that have always believed in flair; something [coach 455358] elevated during his spell at the club. [coach 455375]’s style of play is contrasting to Tottenham’s culture. As a result, fans were not totally on board with this one.

Besides, he is also a [team 18] great because of his 3 [league 2] titles over two separate spells. Being a Chelsea legend, it was always going to be a challenge to get Tottenham fans on board.

At Roma, the situation is very similar. Due to his excellent achievements with [team 2930] at the start of the last decade, he is treated like a god in that side of Milan. His historic treble with the club is arguably his career’s biggest achievement. With him being an Inter icon, it will take some time for him to win over the Roma fans.

Despite his Tottenham period being a failure, he had a major impact on some of Tottenham’s best players. Arguably the best striker in the world even before Jose’s arrival, [player 997] was taken to a new level under Jose’s guidance. His ability to drop and create goals by running less was something that changed in his game after Jose arrived. Also, [player 4313] improved massively under the Portuguese head coach.

He did take them to the [league 27] final. However, He was astonishingly dismissed just a few days before the final against [team 9]. Eventually, Tottenham lost the final. Although, the decision to sack a serial winner just before a final is something that the fans will never understand.

With Roma looking to get back to challenge for the [league 384], Jose might just be the guy to get the legendary club back on track.

With the recently-fired Jose Mourinho signing for Roma, Paulo Di Canio is not impressed with the decision.
